Artist Statement
These pictures were taken in Galapagos between September 2006 and July 2007.

The text embedded in each image is drawn from emails I wrote to friends and family at home during the same time period.  During my nine-month stay there, these letters and photographs were my primary means of recording what was happening to me and trying to understand it.  Now that the experience has passed, I hope to tell my story using these fragments of vision and thought.  Each individual final piece is a 5-½" x 7-½" inkjet print.  This body of work is still in progress, and will eventually take the form of a book.
