Artist Bio
Ryan received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is an Alumni of Skowhegan (2006) and a Fulbright Fellow (Sweden 2006-07.) In addition to his photographic studio practice and work as a cultural critic, Ryan has taught, lectured, thesis advised, and acted as a visiting critic at Cranbrook, The College for Creative Studies, Cleveland Institute of Art, Drexel University, Konstfack University, The Skowhegan School for Painting and Sculpture, as well as working as a producer and creative consultant in the entertainment industry. Most recently Ryan has been a Principal Founder of Show No Tell Productions. His studio practice focuses on the grey areas of the psyche and the structure of images that would attach themselves to psychological recall rather than imagination. Ryan has recently exhibited his work at The Frederieke Taylor Gallery in New York, Kelly & Webber Fine Art in Philadelphia, Konstfack University in Stockholm, The Print Center in Philadelphia, while being featured in The Hayden’s Ferry Review, Tiny Vices 20, White Columns Artist Registry, and the Okay Mountain Gallery in Austin Texas. Currently he is making personalized videos for private clients.
